Abstract

The article is devoted to the creative work of Viktor Ekimovsky in reference to the manifestation of the features of one of the most widespread genres – instrumental theater - of the second half of the 20th – early 21st centuries. The importance of theatrical elements of interpretation of instrumental opuses is proved on the material of such plays as “Mandala”, “In the constellation Canes Venatici”, “Assumption”, “Swan Song” (the first), “Music Lesson in a Byzantine School”. The specifics of the transformation of instrumentalists into actors, whose functions now also include manifestation of external events, are brought to the for.
