Musical Component of Prioksky Early Spring Rituals of Tula and Kaluga Regions

Abstract

The article focuses on the study of local song traditions of villages and hamlets located along the Oka River in the Tula and Kaluga regions within the framework of calendar rituals and gives a comparative characteristic of their musical component. The authors consider forms of interaction between the two types of rituals on these territories and define the terms and dates of the rituals. Poetic texts of spring invocations, meanings of special "key" words, musical examples serve as a comparison material, and the analysis of musical structural peculiarities of ritual songs is presented. At the end of the article general conclusions are given.The article is devoted to the spring calendar rituals of villages and villages located along the Oka River in the Tula and Kaluga regions, a comparative characteristic of the musical component of the two territories is given.
