Abstract
The orchestral work of A. K. Lyadov is a bright page in the history of musical culture. The composer's mastery of instrumentation allowed him to create scores rich in coloristic innovations and interesting timbre decisions. Based on the study of the orchestral texture in the composer's scores and his orchestration technique, the article gives an interpretation of woodwind instrument group in A. K. Lyadov's symphonic works, identifies the principles and peculiarities of its use. Comparison of A. K. Lyadov's orchestration techniques with the scores by other composers makes it possible to highlight the unique features of his orchestral writing.
