Abstract
The paper analyses primary sound structures underlying the pitch parameter of the superformula of the opera heptalogy LICHT by the German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen. The paper focuses on the structures of base tones rows of the heptalogy’s main characters - Michael, Eve and Lucifer. The pitch and sonant relationships between these three formulas, allow the composer to create the sonic integrity of the entire opera cycle, are revealed. Parallels and analogies are drawn between the multilevel structural organization of the superformula and some structural principles in Stockhausen's music of the 1950s and 1960s.
The present article is an adapted version of one section of the research work "Compositional Principles of KLAVIERSTÜCKE from C. Stockhausen's hepthalogy of LICHT", carried out within the framework of the GMPI named after M. M. Ippolitov‑Ivanov assistantship studies (2021–2023, supervisor - Professor Romashchuk I. M.).
